Lower your score from the couch

As I write this post the US enters it's 4th week of quarantine procedures and the golf courses remain shut along with other non essential businesses. By now you are probably getting agitated with the situation and need something to do, but you can work on your game from your home. Let's take it back to basics, the fundamentals of the game are some of the most important aspects to a consistent swing yet so many of us neglect them - well now is the perfect time.
So here's a couple things you can do around the house to top up the swing oil. As you sit on the couch watching TV grab a golf club and take your grip on the club, you may notice that the grip is a little off. If so, correct it and get used to the new position. If not and you think your grip is fine then practice the different grips for different shot shapes, if you don't know what these are then you can watch my video on the tips & drills page. This is something that my coach learnt from the king himself Arnold Palmer. The next thing you can do is check your alignment, stand a few feet away from a wall and get into golf posture with your head just touching the wall. Pay attention to your feet, knees and shoulders. Are they aligned or does one part of your body not match up? Step away and step in until you feel like you comfortably get in to good alignment without much thought. Very simple but very effective, if you cant align to the target then no matter how good your swing is you can't hit the target.
You don't have to spend much time doing this just as and when you wish but if you do this little by little then you will see the results once you're able to get back on the course. Any questions, post them and I'll get back to you.
Stay safe, stay healthy.
